May 2010

First of all, we’d like to send our love and prayers to our friend and client David M. Bailey, who underwent his 5th brain surgery this May.  Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his journey.  Please keep him in your thoughts, as well as our client Jack Morris, whose mom underwent brain surgery on the same day.  We’re keeping his whole family in our thoughts and prayers as well.  Thank you for thinking of them, too.

So, hello, folks.  We here at GBS hope your spring is progressing nicely.  We’ve been working on several projects this May as well as recording some live concerts, some of which will be broadcast on WOSU’s HD radio channel called Capital City Radio.  (You might recall our own Eric French hosts his own weekly music program called GroundSwell Columbus on the same channel.)   Last week we recorded the J.D. Souther concert at BoMA with the wonderful Donna Mogavero opening the show, and both sets were fantastic.  J.D, who lives on a farm in Tennessee, jokingly opined that my treatment of my Honda Element as a farm truck was, ah, shall we say, “eccentric”. And since I’ve recently converted it to run on Corn Squeezin’s (ethanol), it does indeed harken back to the day when farmers brewed their own fuel for their vehicles from their own crops.

Pardon.  Wordpress is having technical difficulties.  Perhaps Blogspot is a better option.
