Killer celtic craftmanship for October

by admin on October 8, 2011

Howdy, folks!  Hope you’re enjoying this beautiful autumn.  We know we are.  We’ve brought in October with some incredible celtic music with a block-booked week of recording with lads from the amazing celtic band Slide, one of Ireland’s best celtic groups, ever!  We’ve got some killer (or as the lads would say, “deadly”) tracks laid down, and it was a true pleasure to work with musicians of this caliber.  Plus we learned some good Irish expressions.  No, we will not tell you what they are.  Yet.  Suffice to say it was a studio full of colorful Irish brogue and beautiful instruments and performances.  Yay!

Also this month, in from Chicago, Kris Kelly, playing guitar and singing with her gorgeous voice; the new season of performance music for BalletMet (we recommend everyone catching BalletMet’s performance of Carmen in October–  it promises to be, of course, truly beautiful) and of course our many other client projects.  More on those in a bit.

In memory of our friend and former CD101 deejay, Andy “Andyman” Davis, we’ve just completed the mixes for the memorial concert at The LC last fall featuring Howlin’ Maggie, Watershed, Earwig, Willie Phoenix, and The Toll.  This show will be released on DVD this November to benefit the Andymanathon Charities with a premiere at Studio 35.  We’ll keep y’alls posted on that and on all the projects going on here at GBS.

Now get out and enjoy some fall color!  Peace, y’alls!
